The Force Awakens on Skellig Michael

One of two Unesco sites on the Starseed Ireland Adventure, Sept. 18-27th.

Skellig Michael or as the Irish say, Scelig Mhichil, is a Unesco’s World Heritage Site. Once a monastery for Celtic Christian Monks who fled persecution between the 6th and 8th century, Skellig Michael is now home to birds. A colony of gannets to be exact, with a six-foot wingspan. Located nine miles off the west coast of Ireland, this stunning island provides the closing scene in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Filmed on location, Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Daisy Ridley (Rey) meet on PlanetAhch-To to discuss the good fight.

Enjoy some video humor.
