Starseed Peru Adventure 2025 and Meeting the Altomisayoc
We sat with Mamita María Apaza, a 100‑year‑old Altomisayoc from the Chumpi Paqo tradition of the Quico community. Her presence was a living bridge to the ancient cosmology of the Andes, carrying the authority of one who has walked between worlds for a lifetime. During our time together, four of us received Quarpay initiations from her son, Manuel Apaza, a Pampamisayoc, marking a moment of profound transmission and remembrance.
At lunch, we were joined by a Wak’a Kamayuq, a descendant of the Huallpa lineage. Struck four times by lightning as a two‑year‑old child alongside his mother in Kiñua Pata, Quisinsaya, he shared how lightning is understood not as trauma, but as initiation. His quiet, luminous presence carried the unmistakable signature of that calling.

These encounters echoed the heart of my own teachings.
