Starseed Bhutan Adventure with Althea Provost
Welcome to Starseed Bhutan Adventure with Althea Provost. Step beyond the ordinary into two of Asia’s most captivating worlds — the golden Buddhas of Thailand and the Thunder Dragon Kingdom of Bhutan. Bhutan is a country with a different relationship to the world. A place where mountains are considered alive, rivers are honored, and nature is treated as a living presence woven into daily life.
Here, discovery unfolds through a thoughtful blend of modern 4–5 star comfort, refined spaces that feel grounded and calm, fresh new retreats, and one intentional night of Himalayan simplicity — giving you the freedom to explore temples, spas, stars, and the landscape that surrounds you.
Starseed Bhutan Adventure is a curated immersion into landscapes and traditions that stay with you long after you return home.

A morning designed to let you arrive.
From there, after breakfast, the day unfolds at your own pace. Enjoy the poolside lounge, visit the spa, stretch, float, or simply settle into the time zone.
Or join your fellow starseeds for an early morning exploration of Bangkok’s temples, beginning with Wat Traimet, home of the 5.5 ton solid Gold Buddha.

Naga Guardians and Golden Buddhas
A private excursion invites us to visit three of Bangkok’s most iconic temples with our own guide and air-conditioned transfer. In addition, these sites are not only architectural landmarks — they express a guardianship that resonates across Asia, finding its Himalayan counterpart in Bhutan’s dragon‑protected landscapes.
In Thai temple architecture, the Naga is a guardian serpent — a protector of thresholds and a guide between realms. The Naga’s rising form along the Grand Palace staircase reflects how Thai culture understands power, protection, and the movement from the ordinary world into the awakened one.
Across Asia, serpents have long symbolized rising energy, transformation, and the passage between states of consciousness. For those who have experienced these inner movements directly, the Naga’s ascent is instantly recognizable, a familiar shape that mirrors how energy opens, rises, and shifts perception.
This is where the journey begins to widen. Starseeds are invited to see the Nagas not as decoration, but as part of a shared symbolic literacy — one that prepares us for Bhutan, where dragons, mountains, and elements form a living cosmology and a lineage of awakened relationship with the natural world.

Nagas, Grand Palace
After the Buddha attained enlightenment, a great storm arose.
The Naga king Mucalinda rose from the earth, coiled his body beneath the Buddha, and spread his multi‑headed hood above him to shield him from the rain.
Not because the Buddha needed saving — but because the awakened state is worth protecting.

Entering the Land of the Thunder Dragon
Bhutan is not a destination you simply visit. It is a cosmology you step into. In this way, mountains are guardians, valleys are teachings, and the natural world is understood as a living field of consciousness. The country’s name, Druk Yul, means Land of the Thunder Dragon — a lineage that shapes its art, its rituals, and its relationship to the elements.
Where Thailand introduces the serpent as a threshold guardian, Bhutan expands the vocabulary. Thunder dragons rise from clouds, coil around temples, and appear in the stories that define the kingdom’s identity. They are not metaphors. Thunder Dragons are expressions of awakened energy, protectors of the land, and reminders that the elements themselves are intelligent and responsive.
This is where the journey deepens. Rather than formal instruction, the teachings here unfold through experience — through the way the land interacts with each person, and the way each person responds in return. Althea supports this natural exchange, offering insight when the moment calls for it and helping starseeds recognize the subtle movements of energy that shape their time in Bhutan.
For starseeds, Bhutan becomes a classroom of perception: a place where dragons, mountains, and elements reveal a lineage of wisdom that has been held, protected, and practiced for generations.

The Art of Perception

Hello Bhutan — the tea awaits you.
We land to a Bhutanese welcome — our team for the next seven days, complete with private driver and licensed guide. After customs, we settle in for a generous tea or coffee in Paro before seeing the sights, letting the rhythm of the valley meet us where we are.
From there, we make our way to Zhiwaling Ascent, our Michelin‑recommended hotel. And in Bhutan, that doesn’t mean opulence — it means Bhutanese‑styled simplicity elevated with intention. Like many Bhutanese hotels, it’s built in harmony with the environment, integrating with the land rather than imposing on it. Never short on service, views, cuisine, or full‑service spas. It’s thoughtful, warm, and quietly exquisite.

Wisdom is in the hands.
Here’s where the stars introduce themselves.
Not overhead — but through the hands that carry the wisdom.
A Bhutanese astrologer will visit us — trained in the lineage where the movement of the stars continue to guide life, timing, and ceremony. You’re invited to receive an optional astrology reading and your Bhutanese name.
This is a gift from my heart to yours. A moment where ancient cosmology meets your own story, and where Bhutan reveals itself not through sightseeing, but through meaning.
Should you wish to learn which prayer flag best supports your intentions, this insight will be offered along the way. As we journey onward, we’ll pass through a small marketplace where a flag may call to you.
Later, in the quiet of the Bhutanese landscape, there will be a moment to release your flag to the wind, letting your prayers move outward.
Or, should you wish, take the prayers with you.
Starseed Bhutan Adventure in motion
After this, Bhutan begins to unfold around us — the Rhododendron Festival in bloom, markets, bridges, and the first quiet notes of the land.

Starseed Bhutan Adventure at a Glance
Then the next seven days rise in a sweeping arc: we cross high passes, descend into fertile valleys, walk to mountaintop stupas, visit dzongs shaped by centuries of devotion, and spend a night in a rural Himalayan lodge where the stars feel impossibly close.
Our lodging rises with the land itself — beginning with riverside comfort in Punakha, moving into the quiet simplicity of Gangtey, and culminating in our 5‑star legacy hotel, COMO Uma Paro, the one the Royal Family dines at.

Two Doors – One Pathway
How the Starseed Bhutan Adventure Unfolds from here
We return to Paro, and like any good host, I’ll show you what’s behind each door — not as choices to rank, but as paths that all lead to the same truth.
(Tea + Expansive Views)
Door One opens into the cool morning, where the trail rises through blue pine and rhododendron, and the first light catches the prayer flags like a quiet blessing.
We may walk.
We may ride.
Both are honored.
Both are ours.
And then —
tea and expansive views.
Soon, the forest opens, the valley drops away, and Tiger’s Nest appears suspended on the cliff, revealing itself clearly.
This door is for the one who wants the ascent —
the breath, the rhythm,
and the view.
In choosing Tiger’s Nest, we will return to Como Uma Paro by afternoon.
(The Union Point)
This is where everyone meets and the final leg is walked.
Tiger’s Nest is a place where lineages converge — the forces once tamed on this cliff, and the wisdom that still moves through the caves and chambers.
Inside, silence is the teaching.
A contemplation room invites presence, and behind it rests a small cave associated with Yeshe Tsogyal — her presence unmistakable, her story still alive in the stone.
Some caves are visible, some sealed, some active retreat spaces — all part of a sacred geography that has never been performative, only lived.
This door is for the one who wants to sit inside the myth, inside the monastery, inside the stillness that holds both the seen and the unseen.
(The Sovereign Path)
Five‑star COMO Uma Paro comfort.
Your rhythm, your pace.
Breakfast lingering, poolside waves, spa smoothing, archery on the lawn — the day shaped entirely by your choosing.
Yoga mats in your room, a whisky tasting if the mood strikes, a butter‑lamp ceremony if your heart wants ritual.
This is the path of sovereignty —
the one who knows their own timing.
No judgment. Ever.
Starseed Bhutan Adventure – The Wrap
And just like that…
we gather in Bukhari — the circular pavilion at COMO Uma Paro,
where a traditional Bhutanese fireplace glows at the center,
and the forest wraps the room in quiet green.
Altitude softens into ease here.
The journey settles into the body.
And our final night in Bhutan unfolds around a table that feels less like seating
and more like a constellation forming in the round.
Laughter rising.
Warmth circling.
Stories from the trail or spa grounds weaving themselves into one shared circle —
all of it part of the same path,
and part of the same “we.”
The next morning, we lift off toward Bangkok,
the first runway back to the world.
A final night in Thailand —
to breathe,
to gather once again,
to prepare for the flights that carry us home in our own directions.
And that is an EAGLEtarian wrap up
for our starseeds who still know how to fly.
We came as individuals.
Traveled as a constellation.
And moved as one field —
guided, met and along the way, we learned.
